Mission Trip
2010 Vision Team
The team will depart on Sunday, August 1 and return on Monday, August 16. Hosted by Ministry of Hope in Lilongwe, they will serve at a local infant crisis nursery and two regional feeding centers.
Participants are: Lisa Mandel, David Cutler, Roy Christensen and his wife Cheri, Paul Sigmund and his daughter Diane, Karen Witt and her daughter Caroline, and Ward Scheiderman. Jacqueline Thompson will also join the team this year, as a scholarship recipient and representative from New City Kids Church in Jersey City.
Activities will include:
Volunteer at Infant Crisis nursery - Prepare meals at feeding centers
- Build bookshelves and swingsets
- Setup soccer goals/nets
- Distribute donations
- Lead Christian education sessions
- Lead Sunday worship with donated drum set and guitar
- Help with a drip irrigation project and soil sampling
- Review last year's malaria-treated mosquito net program and chicken & eggs project
- Rough out new 1/4 acre garden; plan farm ministry
- Home visits with orphan caretakers
- End-of trip retreat over two days

The team welcomes enthusiastic people who wish to contribute their time and abilities to an important cause. Volunteers are matched with specific projects based on personal interests, skills and experiences. Training is given and financial assistance is available, if needed.
