ElizabethPort Center

The Presbytery of Elizabeth oversees this non-profit social center that strengthens families and provides opportunities for gainful employment. Contact Phil Hammond through the church office.

The Foodbank Network of Somerset County

Individuals and families in Somerville, Bound Brook and North Plainfield receive food and other assistance from this foodbank. For more information, contact Silvio Verdille.

Good News Home for Women

Based in Flemington, Good News Home for Women provides Christian short and long-term, residential treatment programs for women to overcome their chemical dependencies by offering a holistic, non-denominational approach. Spiritual birth and growth are stressed, along with the Christian 12-Step process. The Good News Home for Women endeavors to help its clients become mentally sound, emotionally balanced, socially adjusted, physically well and spiritually alive. Mission Team contact: Linda Buccini.

Habitat for Humanity

This Raritan Valley Chapter builds affordable housing for low-income families in Central Jersey. To help on a building project (ages 16+), contact Silvio Verdile.

Market Street Mission

The Market Street Mission ministers to the homeless, helpless and hopeless in northern New Jersey by meeting their physical, emotional and spiritual needs through a structured program which enables them to lead responsible, productive lives. Market Street Mission meets physical needs with food, shelter, clothing, and other necessities, and emotional and spiritual needs with guidance and life change programs. About 90 men are residents in the Christian rehabilitation and recovery program.

World Impact - Newark

World Impact-Newark is empowering America’s urban poor through God’s love in many different ways.  If you want to help, please review the opportunities for service.  One of the ways World Impact is serving youth is through the Newark Christian School established to develop academic competence, Christian character and self-confidence in urban students.
