Special Needs

Our ministry grew out of a concern for a number of children in Sunday School classes who were having a difficult time coping with their environment. Many of these children have a variety of physical, mental and emotional disabilities such as muscular dystrophy, autism, and ADHD.

Our goal is to provide children with special needs an opportunity to participate in Sunday morning activities and for their families to take part in worship and church activities.

Our Shadow Program

Our Shadow Program matches a "shadow" (buddy helper) to learn, play and pray side by side with one child who needs individual attention. Shadows receive training and relevant information on the child's special needs to help them and the Sunday School teacher adapt activities appropriately.

Can You Shadow?

Teenagers and adults can serve God by learning about disabilities, serving others in need, and forming relationships with special needs children. Please contact Kelly Tancredi in the church office.
